## PPWR context
The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (Regulation EU 2025/40, known as PPWR) applies from August 12, 2026. It requires companies placing packaged products on the EU market to:
- Register with EPR registries in each country they sell into
- Report packaging weight by material and pay EPR fees
- Meet recyclability requirements (Grade C minimum by 2030, Grade B by 2038)
- Maintain Documentation of Conformity for all packaging
- Comply with recycled content minimums and PFAS substance restrictions
